Description:
The Coastwatch station is manned 365 days by volunteers, covering most of the daylight hours, and co-ordinates with other rescue bodies to watch our coastline and cliffs and ships that pass through our waters. |

| Evelyn is a smasher! |

Description:
Mrs Evelyn Ford did the honours in October 2003, as Chairman of Berkhamsted Branch of the RNLI who worked hard to raise over £23,500 for this inshore lifeboat in their 50th year of fundraising,1998. It was truly a magnificent effort. Many thanks. |

Description:
Beach access was here at Town Gap many years ago. The lifeboat was hauled up and down here by teams of horses. People would gather after a shipwreck to collect whatever was washed onto the beach, using carts and handcarts to retrieve their treasures. |
