Description:
The track towards Swainsthorpe from the Long Barn is a good route to Swainsthorpe Station. At the brow of the hill (by hedge in distance) a footpath goes left to The Wood - once in Mulbarton parish. Some theories think this was once the Icknield Way |

The signal box at Swainsthorpe station when the station was in use. The box was dismantled a few years ago and re-erected at the Wells end of the Wells to Walsingham narrow-gauge railway. |

| Carriage Licence |

Description:
The car licences we know were preceded by licences for carriages. This one was issued at Mulbarton Post office in Jan 1885 for a light carriage with less than 4 wheels. It cost 15 shillings for the year - a considerable sum. |

| Bus shelter crash |

Description:
Villagers campaigned for years for bus shelters, and eventually two were built by the Parish Council. This one, outside the World's End was demolished several times by skidding vehicles. This time the phone box went, too! |

| Carriage Exchange |

Description:
Part-exchange is not new - in 1887 Mr Turner of Paddock Farm exchanged his old 'car' for a new 'Norwich Car' on a 3-year system from Howes Carriage Works in Prince of Wales Road, Norwich. |
