Mulbarton > Houses

The history of housing reflects the history of social conditions. In these articles we have compiled material on houses large and small. There are details of the 'Big Houses' and the people who lived in them, many of them benefactors to Mulbarton and its people over the centuries. But you'll also find the history of ordinary houses here, including the old thatched church cottages, fondly remembered by former inhabitants, the growth of council housing in the village and the improvised housing that emerged at the old American air force base at Hethel.

More photos and information about Mulbarton houses - and some of the families who lived in them - in 'The Book of Mulbarton'
