An early Noakes photo of a shoemaker - thought to have been taken in Mulbarton. We know a shoemaker lived and worked opposite the World's End, and Trade Directories list several names.

By 1975 Frost's garage had a single-storey brick shop and workshop and more modern pumps. The old post office (left) is a private house and the Wingfield Hall will soon be demolished.

Henry Cannell (apprentice mechanic at Frost's Garage) serves petrol from an early 'bowser' pump. The car has the Norfolk registration AH. Beyond is the Chapel (left) and baker's shop (right).
Bread van at garage

Frost's garage on Norwich Road sold tyres and other spare parts as well as petrol. Mr. Funnell's bread delivery van was kept and serviced here.
